Sarita Metzger, MD

Sarita Metzger MD MPH is the secretary of PSAM and an early career psychiatrist. 

Her practice is focused on dual diagnosis, transcranial magnetic stimulation and emergency psychiatry. Dr. Metzger obtained her Masters in Public Health from George Washington University and was inducted into the public health honor society. She has led antiracism groups, lectured locally and nationally on LGBTQ+ mental health care considerations and is certified in Community and Public Psychiatry. She has a special interest in the role of culture in diagnostic and treatment paradigms and as such co-founded the Cultural Psychiatry Certificate program in her residency at the University of Pennsylvania and is now the faculty champion.
