Peter A. DeMaria, FASAM, DFAPA
Dr. DeMaria is the Coordinator of Psychiatric Services at Tuttleman Counseling Services, the student counseling program at Temple University and is a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine if Temple University. Board certified in general psychiatry, addiction psychiatry and addiction medicine, he is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Society of Addiction Medicine and a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association.
Dr. DeMaria received the Nyswander-Dole “Marie” Award of the American Association for the Treatment of Opioid Dependence in 2001 for his dedication and contributions to the field. Prior to coming to Temple University, Dr. DeMaria was on the faculty at Jefferson Medical College (now Sidney Kimmel Medical School) and was the medical director of the Narcotic Addict Rehabilitation Program and a psychiatric consultant at the Family Center Program. He has been involved in various addiction committees on the local, state, and national level. He has published a number of scientific articles that focus on opioid use disorder and its treatment, benzodiazepine use disorders and their treatment and college mental health.
